LATEST COVID-19 NEWS

Dear valued members,

As the whole world is facing the current COVID-19 pandemic and its economic and social challenges, I am proud of Taiwan and its handling of the outbreak. I know many of you are dealing with the incredible challenges due to the current situation. While no one knows exactly what the full effects of the virus will be on Taiwan and Canada, I am confident that both countries will face this unprecedented situation with intelligence and courage.

First and foremost, we hope that you, your loved ones and your colleagues are all in good health and continue to be so. In an effort to follow the directives from the Taiwan CDC to maintain social distancing, we have taken the difficult decision to cancel all CanCham events from now until the end of June. This includes our biggest event of the year, Celebration Canada. While we wish we could maintain this annual tradition, it is just not feasible at this time to hold an event that welcomes close to 10,000 people. We will continue to monitor the situation regarding the virus, and will keep you, our members, informed when there is new information.
For the time being, we will work with the Canadian Trade Office to send you important information, please watch our Facebook page for any updates from us or CTOT.

We are here for you. In our history as the Canadian Chamber of Commerce or the Canadian Society, we have weathered many storms. Our legacy is one of providing services for our members and promoting Canadian and Taiwanese values. Together, as a chamber of commerce, we are committed to preserving that legacy for you.

Sincerely,
Jean-Christophe Guedon
Chairman, Canadian Chamber of Commerce
