4th Annual Maple Ball Charity Gala Taipei

The Canadian Chamber of Commerce in Taiwan cordially invites you to attend our

4th Annual Maple Ball For Charity

Saturday, November 10, 2018

The Grand Hyatt Taipei, 3F Ballroom

The Maple Ball for charity is the largest formal event of the year hosted by the Canadian Chamber of Commerce in Taiwan. Our event is run in partnership with MacKay Memorial Hospital and the Canadian Trade Office in Taipei to raise money for the hospital’s Children’s Ward.

It is a celebration of the strong links between Canada and Taiwan dating back more than 100 years when Dr. George Leslie MacKay first began his missionary work in Taiwan.

In 2015, more than 220 people joined the event which included wonderful food, live music, an opera performance and lots of new friends and memories. Almost $10,000CDN was raised at the event for charity.

In 2016, we raised under $16,500 CDN for the Children’s Ward, thanks to a wonderful 3oth anniversary celebration with the Canadian Trade Office in Taipei.

In 2017, we raised over 460,000NT for a new bone marrow transplantation ward in the Children’s Wing at MacKay Memorial Hospital. This was our most successful year to date and the CCCT was able to hit its goal of donating over one million New Taiwan Dollars to MacKay Memorial Hospital for children in need.

What can we achieve in 2018?

We have no limits, only love to show for our community here in Taiwan and for MacKay Memorial Hospital, which is one of the most well-known and respected private hospitals in Taiwan.

Its long standing service to the people of Taiwan have made it a great beneficiary, so please come out for a good cause.

Your ticket purchase and attendance at this event will affect the lives of children in Taiwan. Proceeds from every ticket go directly towards the MacKay Memorial Hospital Children’s Ward to assist children with rare diseases.

2018 Maple Ball Sponsors

The Canadian Chamber of Commerce Taiwan was established in 1983 by a group of Canadians in answer to the absence of official representation in Taiwan at that time.

Since its inception, the CCCT has grown from an organization providing basic support to Canadians on the island to a Chamber serving the needs of all Canadians and friends of Canada in Taiwan.

The Canadian Chamber of Commerce Taiwan is delighted to be hosting and sponsoring the 2018 4th Annual Maple Ball for Charity.

CTOT – Canadian Trade Office in Taipei

The Canadian Trade Office in Taipei was first established in 1986 with a mandate to facilitate trade ties between Canada and Taiwan. Since then, relations between Canada and Taiwan have strengthened and diversified considerably making Taiwan one of Canada’s most significant partners in Asia-Pacific.

Mackay Memorial Hospital Taipei

MacKay Memorial Hospital (馬偕紀念醫院) is one of the largest medical centers in Taiwan.

It was established on December 26, 1912. The hospital is a private Christian hospital, mostly associated with George Leslie Mackay, the first modern missionary to northern Taiwan.

Dr. MacKay came from Oxford Country, Ontario, Canada. The hospital is deeply rooted in the Presbyterian tradition and under the spiritual guidance of the Presbyterian Church in Taiwan.
