The Maple Ball has been hosted for 9 years by the CCCT. The donations we have raised have supported the Mackay Memorial Hospital.

From 2015 to 2023, through the generosity of our sponsors, we have donated close to $3 million NT to MacKay Memorial Hospital Children’s Ward and the hospital’s other philanthropic causes. In the past years, our donations were used for a new bone marrow transplantation ward and for children with rare diseases, for COVID-19 PPE purchasing, and for international humanitarian Medical Cooperation.
It is a celebration of the strong links between Canada and Taiwan dating back more than 100 years when Dr. George Leslie MacKay first began his missionary work in Taiwan.

In November 2022 we held the 8th annual Maple Ball and were proud to raise $299,739 for the MacKay Memorial hospital Children’s Ward.

In March of 2022, we held our postponed gala scheduled originally for November 2021. In total we donated a total of $304,809 to MacKay Memorial hospital for their continuing efforts to combat COVID-19.

In 2020 we were proud to have donated $407,000 to MacKay Memorial Hospital for their efforts to combat the COVID-19 Pandemic.

In 2019, we raised over $360,000 NT for supporting International Humanitarian Aid. This brought the CCCT’s total donation to MacKay Memorial Hospital closed to $1.9 million.

In 2018, we raised over $290,000 NT for a the MacKay Memorial Hospital Children’s Ward to assist children with rare diseases. This brought the CCCT’s total donation to MacKay Memorial Hospital close to $1.5 million over the years for children in need.

In 2017, we raised over $460,000 NT for a new bone marrow transplantation ward in the Children’s Wing at MacKay Memorial Hospital. This was our most successful year to date.

In 2016, we raised just under $16,500 CDN for the Children’s Ward, thanks to a wonderful 30th anniversary celebration with the Canadian Trade Office in Taipei.

In 2015, more than 220 people joined the event which included wonderful food, live music, an opera performance and lots of new friends and memories. Almost $10,000 CDN was raised at the event for charity.

2022 Maple Ball Organizers

The Canadian Chamber of Commerce Taiwan was established in 1983 by a group of Canadians in answer to the absence of official representation in Taiwan at that time.

Since its inception, the CCCT has grown from an organization providing basic support to Canadians on the island to a Chamber serving the needs of all Canadians and friends of Canada in Taiwan.

The Canadian Chamber of Commerce Taiwan is delighted to be hosting and sponsoring the 6th Annual Maple Ball Charity Gala.

CTOT – Canadian Trade Office in Taipei

The Canadian Trade Office in Taipei was first established in 1986 with a mandate to facilitate trade ties between Canada and Taiwan. Since then, relations between Canada and Taiwan have strengthened and diversified considerably making Taiwan one of Canada’s most significant partners in Asia-Pacific.

Mackay Memorial Hospital Taipei

MacKay Memorial Hospital (馬偕紀念醫院) is one of the largest medical centers in Taiwan.

It was established on December 26, 1912. The hospital is a private Christian hospital, mostly associated with George Leslie Mackay, the first modern missionary to northern Taiwan.

Dr. MacKay came from Oxford Country, Ontario, Canada. The hospital is deeply rooted in the Presbyterian tradition and under the spiritual guidance of the Presbyterian Church in Taiwan.

We are announcing more sponsors as they join us in this celebration of love.
